VARNA

Varna is the third largest city in Bulgaria after Sofia and Plovdiv, with a population of 351,552(10.01.2006) . It is referred to as the sea capital or the summer capital of Bulgaria because it is the biggest city on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. Varna was also the base of the Bulgarian Navy. Currently, there is a Naval Museum with a museum ship torpedo boat Drazki. The archaeological museum contains some of the finds from the so-called "Gold of Varna", a cache of Chalcolithic grave-goods which are the oldest gold treasure in the world.

ALBENA

albena ALBENA is situated at the very beach and at the picturesque hills with exciting views of the sea and the “Baltata” National Reserve. The resort's errection was started in 1968, which makes it one of the most modern holiday resorts along the Bulgarian coast. BALCHIK

The town of Balchik is situated on tiers onto a big ancient landslide. The terrain is cut in the north-south by deep gulches on the territory of the city and in the villas zones as well. The territory is rather complicated because of the relief. Nowadays we can divide the town in two parts – the old town, situated amphitheatrically on the steep shore and the new town situated on the plateau above it. Near the new town is separated industrial and storehouse zone. The population of the town is 13 561 inhabitants.

GOLDEN SANDS

Golden Sands is located in a picturesque and environmentally-clean bay in the Northern part of the Black Sea coast, only 10 km. south of Hills and Sea Complex and 18km north of Varna. It was declared a protected territory in 1943. The larger part of the park is preserved in its natural state, untouched by human hand. The proximity of the sea, the mild climate and the sea breeze have influenced strongly the flora and fauna in the park which is why it differs greatly from the other national parks...

KALIAKRA CAPE

Kaliakra and its cape has been the settled since the bronze age due to its outstanding location and fertile sea. Located 72km north of Varna and just 12km from Kavarna, the area is close to road, rail and air links. Kaliakra Now largely protected, the Kaliakra area hosts a unique blend of dramatic cliffs, unpolluted crystal waters and rolling countryside. The area is famous for its dolphins and sea bird nesting sites, both attracted to its secluded undeveloped location. Just 20 minutes from the coastal town of Kavarna, Cape Kalikara contains a bronze age archeological site and fort. The Cape is popular with eco and cultural tourists who visit in increasing numbers each year.

The Pobiti Kamani Natural Phenomenon

The unique rock formations Pobiti kamani is present in the list of the UNESCO world catalogue as a natural phenomenon. It is situated 18 km from Varna on the old way to Sofia and occupies an area of 70 sq.m. The place is semidesert-semisteppe, measuring 32 km in length and 230 m to 4 km in width. The microclimate there has a number of peculiarities – it is almost always windy, the soil consist of coarse granular carbonates with unusually high content of coarse sands and highly erosed clay, the vegetation is sparse – only 4 vegetation species.
